Alysia graduated from Broadview University in December 2013 with her Associates of Applied Science Degree in Veterinary Technology and took her boards the following April for her certification. She has always had a love for animals. Even at the age of 5, she told her friends and family that her dream was to become a veterinarian. As she entered the field of veterinary medicine as a young adult, she learned about the different roles within the clinic setting and decided that becoming a Veterinary Technician was her true calling. She enjoys interacting and educating clients as well as assisting the doctors on duty in surgeries and exams. Alysia loves what she does and is proud to be a part of the All Valley team!
At home, Alysia has a German Wirehaired Pointer mix named Lacie who has been at her side for 13 years. Lacie is very intelligent and loving to all those she meets. She is very tolerant and accepting of all the strange animals Alysia brings into the house and always welcomes them with open arms. Alysia also has a 2 year old Mini Rex rabbit named Claude. He can be pretty shy at first, but very much enjoys the interaction of people around him and has some of the softest fur. Both of her two pets are therapy animals that she bring into nursing homes on a regular basis for pet therapy. The last is the newest member of Alysia’s family, Tanya. Tanya is a 3 month old kitten and is full of energy! She's playful and curious, but at the end of the day all she wants to do is curl into your lap and go to sleep. As Tanya matures, Alysia hopes to certify her kitten as a therapy animal as well.
When Alysia isn’t saving animals, she loves to go hiking and camping, or just anything that involves spending time outdoors! She loves being outside because it always brings about great opportunities for photography and bringing about creative ideas. Alysia also enjoys spending a lazy morning in front of a good book with a hot cup of coffee or writing her own stories.
