Laura Veals, D.V.M., cVMA

Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, Certified Veterinary Medical Acupuncturist

After graduating from Colorado State University with her degree in Equine Science, Dr. Veals directed her focus to small animal medicine and became deeply passionate about animal welfare after her job experiences in shelter medicine. Inspired to reach out further, Dr. Veals attended a two week trip with the HSVMA Field Services group to Arizona in 2010. While helping the veterinary team offer much needed medical care to local pets, a stray female dog wandered into the clinic wagging her tail and found a ride home with Dr. Veals all the way back to Colorado! After this trip, she knew she had to continue to help.

Dr. Veals attended Ross University School of Veterinary Medicine in St Kitts, after which she completed her senior clinical year at Colorado State University. After graduation, Dr. Veals treated small animals & exotics near her hometown of Boulder, Colorado. In July of 2016, she joined All Valley Animal Care with a goal to bring pets and their families closer together to live healthier, happier lives through high quality medicine and a comprehensive view of patient care. Her passion for acupuncture, holistic care, dentistry, exotics, and hospice have inspired her to constantly seek out continuing education opportunities, hands on labs & lectures, and hundreds of hours of personal study.
Dr. Veals currently lives in Boise with her husband Steve, their two rescued dogs Buddy & Arizona (the former stray who found a ride to Colorado!), along with their cats Dolce and Trio- who she adopted during her first day working at an animal shelter after he had been hit by a car and survived with three legs.

Dr. Veals enjoys photography, hiking, stand-up paddle-boarding, snowshoeing, gaming, guitar/vocals, camping, professional voice-over recording for companies including OtterBox, fly fishing with Steve, and PureBarre/yoga. Be sure to catch Dr. Veals on KBOI 2's 'Your Pet 2Day' for helpful pet care tips!
