Tinker at her previous shelter before coming to the US for surgery.

Tinker came to HALO Animal Rescue through their partnership with Barb’s Dog Rescue in Puerto Penasco, Mexico.  Barb’s Dog Rescue helps out a shelter in Hermosillo, Mexico where the pets are in desperate need.

Tinker arrived at HALO Animal Rescue where their team immediately recognized she had a heart condition so severe it could be felt just by holding her. Tinker required life-saving surgery that was outside of HALO’s financial abilities – that’s where AVAR and All Valley Animal Care Center stepped up to help.

Through our amazing partnership with HALO, Tinker was flown up to Idaho where All Valley Animal Care Center’s incredible staff performed the extremely delicate surgery her heart needed. From surgery to post-op care, the incredible staff at All Valley Animal Care Center gave this sweet girl the second chance at life she desperately deserved. We are thrilled to be a part of such a strong and compassionate team of veterinary professionals, and we are overjoyed to see Tinker thrive and enjoy her new lease on life!

Maya

Maya

Maya got an upset tummy and decided to eat a whole bunch of chest grass and a small staple. Luckily we were able to remove it with our video endoscope. It took over 2 hours to pull it all out, chunk by chunk, but we were able to avoid surgery. She will soon be feeling much better! We love sweet Maya and her super nice owners.

Lilly

Lilly

Sadly, this was the case a couple years later for poor Lilly, and she had to have a stent placed in her ureter at the specialty center. All was well again until recently, when she came in lethargic and in pain.

Rusty

Rusty

Rusty came to us due to a several day history of poor appetite and lethargy. He had a very enlarged lymph node under his jaw, and his blood work showed very high calcium levels. First on our list of likely diseases was, unfortunately, a type of cancer called lymphoma. We prepared his owner for some likely bad news, but we did the tests to confirm the potential diagnosis- a sample of the enlarged node looking for cancer cells.
