Myth Busting: Senior Pets & Dentals

Myth Busting "You shouldn't put an old dog or cat through surgery or a dental procedure." FALSE!

Ozzy

Ozzy

Ozzy came to us unconscious and severely traumatized after being pulled under a fence and attacked by 2 larger dogs. He was in critical condition.

Maya

Maya

Maya got an upset tummy and decided to eat a whole bunch of chest grass and a small staple. Luckily we were able to remove it with our video endoscope. It took over 2 hours to pull it all out, chunk by chunk, but we were able to avoid surgery. She will soon be feeling much better! We love sweet Maya and her super nice owners.

Jack

Jack

Jack is a sweet and wonderful boy who came to us for the first time suffering from pneumonia. He had to be hospitalized for several days on oxygen, and he won all of our hearts....as did his sweet human children siblings who decorated his oxygen chamber with pictures and get well wishes.

Ben

Ben

Ben was hit by a car and suffered lung trauma. He had both bruising in his lungs, and as time went by he started to develop a collapsed lung (medical term called pneumothorax).

Rusty

Rusty

Rusty came to us due to a several day history of poor appetite and lethargy. He had a very enlarged lymph node under his jaw, and his blood work showed very high calcium levels. First on our list of likely diseases was, unfortunately, a type of cancer called lymphoma. We prepared his owner for some likely bad news, but we did the tests to confirm the potential diagnosis- a sample of the enlarged node looking for cancer cells.

Hypoallergenic Pets

Hypoallergenic Pets

Believe it or not, Dr. Hadley is allergic to pet dander! Some might wonder how she can spend all day at work working with animals and then all night with her own VERY fluffy friends (Nora and Lucy). The good news is that there's lot of options out there that can prevent, help and treat pet allergies.

New Year's Eve Safety

New Year's Eve Safety

Parties, fireworks and 2015 song mash-ups are how many people like to bring in the New Year. Unfortunately for many pets all the festivities that come with the holiday can be stressful and frightening.

Pawco

Pawco

Pawco came in a couple weeks ago, very sick. He had eaten a bone the night before from a roast, and the next day was vomiting and extremely weak.
